Photo A Day November

If you follow me on instagram you will know that I have been playing along with Fat Mum Slim's photo a day challenge for November.  It was a lot of fun but I got a bit slack towards the end and had to do a couple of catch up days.  For those not on instagram here are my photos for the month.

Chantelle has also released the list for the December photo a day so if you would like to play along pop over here to grab the list.  I am still tossing up whether to play or not.  December is going to be super busy for us so there may not be time.  I guess I will see how I feel tomorrow.

Life Via Instagram

It's been a few weeks since I shared some instagram photos so I thought I would show you what we have been up to lately.

insta life 1

We got dressed up and celebrated Imogen's first Melbourne Cup with lunch at my parents house.  We didn't win any money unfortunately.

We went bowling with Corey's whole family (18 of us in total) which was hilariously good fun.  Imogen slept through a packed bowling alley with pumping music.  She is a very deep sleeper!

Corey was craving dessert one night so with the limited ingredients in our cupboard I made him a cookie in a cup.  It was delicious!!!  The recipe can be found here.

We celebrated our good friends engagement with a rocking party.  They had a photo booth which supplied loads of entertainment throughout the night.  Imogen wasn't much of a fan of the photobooth though.

insta life 3

We stayed the weekend at the Marriott in Surfers to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.  The view from our room was gorgeous and we took shameless selfies in the lifts.

We spent Sunday at my parents house with my sister before she flew back to Melbourne and Imogen had her first snuggles with Roxy.

I finally made a decision on what to make for the handmade ornament swap and started whipping them up this afternoon.

And on a final note, did you know instagram has introduced web profiles.  So now you don't ned to be on instagram to follow my photos.  Simply pop over here to my page and check them out.  And for any instagram users wondering how to find their page just go to www.instagram.com/your username.

Life Since Baby

Hello, how are you? Long time no chat!  Since Miss Imogen entered our lives we have been taking some time to work things out and settle in.  It has been an interesting ride to say the least but we are taking it all as it comes and figuring it out together.  There have been a few fun things going on around here too so I though I would share some snippets of the past few weeks.  If you follow me on instagram (@petticoatsandpeplums) you have probably already seen these.

life since baby 1

I arrived home from hospital to a parcel on my doorstep.  It was a couple of vintage dresses I had bough while on maternity leave.  They don't fit me just yet but they are inspiring me to get back into shape.  These were bought from RileyBella123 on etsy and I must say this store was a dream to buy from.  The sellers communication was incredibly helpful and prompt and the little sweater clip was included in my package as a free gift.

life since baby 2

I was spoilt by my work colleagues with a gorgeous bunch of flowers.  The came packaged in a hat box which I was able to keep once the flowers deteriorated.

I have also been thanking my lucky stars for the amount of help Corey has given me.  There were a few nights after hospital he tended to Imogen so I could catch up on my sleep.  I thanked him with a pancake breakfast one morning.  He is seriously the most helpful husband in the whole world and I am so grateful to have him!

life since baby 3

This past weekend was gorgeously sunny which called for my new hats first outing.  I am so in love with this hat and it was only $15 from Kmart.  Gotta love bargains!

My gorgeous sister came to visit last weekend and spent the majority of the weekend with Imogen snuggled into her chest just like this.  It was adorable to watch and I can't wait till she is here again in a couple of weeks.

While my sister was here we also went out for dinner to celebrate my birthday and I was able to squeeze into one of my vintage dresses.  To say I was stoked is a massive understatement! I currently fit into about 3 vintage dresses in my wardrobe.  The rest I are so fitted in the waist that it is probably going to be a while before they fit.

life since baby 4

I managed to squeeze a small bit of sewing in while Imogen was taking a nap during the week.  More on this to come shortly.

On my birthday my parents came around with dinner and a delicious caramel mudcake that my mum made.  It was absolutely delicious and very much appreciated!

And I was massively spoilt by Corey with a new sewing machine for my birthday.  It's an Elna 5300.  It has 50 stitches and 3 different buttonholes.  I have read through the manual but haven't had a chance to sew on it yet.  Hopefully this weekend while Corey is home.  The other super exciting present I got was from my mum and dad - a ticket to A Chorus Line! My mum and I are going in December and I can't wait!!!

So we are starting to fall into some resemblance of a routine so hopefully this means I will have a little bit of time for some crafting and be able to share some more exciting things with you all soon.  Until then....

Maternity Leave Week 1

maternity leave week 1

We spent the weekend in Woolgoolga and visited the Big Banana in Coffs Harbour.

I spent a lot of time lying on the lounge enjoying tea & biscuits and trying to break my lunch habit of toasted sandwiches.

My gorgeous cousin won her touch footy game in Port Macquarie. Bummed I couldn't be there with my mum and dad but I get to see her play at the end of October in Brisbane.

I tried a new recipe from recipes + magazine.  It was delicious!!!  I tried to find it on their website to share with you but couldn't.

I found an awesome new t-shirt!  I am so ridiculously excited about this shirt. We always tell Corey he is a cowboy/country boy so this was a perfect find.

I am loving this new cake decorating magazine.  You get free little gifts with every magazine and they teach you all the basics of cake decorating. I am hoping this will help me improve my cake decorating skills.

I bought a bouncer for Squishy, attempted to put it together, then decided to leave it for Corey.  It only took him 10 minutes.

Corey and I had what could possibly be our last date night before Squishy arrives.  Nandos, maltesers and The Watch.  Perfection!!!

This first week of maternity leave was very odd.  I found it a bit hard to get used to being home alone when I am used to be in an office of 15 hilarious people all day every day.  This week though I think things will be better.  I have written myself a list of things to do to keep myself motivated.  Last week I was getting a bit bummed out about being alone so spent most of my time lying on the couch being mopey and unmotivated.  This week I plan to get things done and enjoy these last few moments of spare time.

Do You Instagram?

I do!  Apparently I have been on instagram for 49 weeks but it is only within the last few months that I have started using it consistently.  I must admit I am becoming slightly addicted.  It's a fun way to share little snapshots of life.  I am thinking of starting a weekly instagram post to share some snippets of life with you guys.
